Conservative Crewe & Nantwich MP Edward Timpson held a meeting with Royal Mail workers fighting for their jobs yesterday,'OUTSIDE' Crewe sorting office after he was banned from talking to workers on Royal Mail property.The meeting was called to give workers the chance to put questions to management through their MP after claims Royal Mail bosses were keeping them in the dark.Mr Timpson, who is due to meet company bosses tomorrow, said he was astounded he was not allowed on site.
He said: "All Royal Mail employees want is the opportunity to meet with their constituency MP to discuss the future of their jobs. For that to be denied seems to be churlish at best. What do they think I'm going to do apart from listen to some extremely concerned, and in some cases desperate, people?"Crew is one of many Mail Centres in the North West due to close.
