Nuneaton's new Royal Mail delivery office is almost complete. That is according to developers, the Deeley Group, which is behind the new facility in Bermuda village.

The current delivery office in Church Street will be demolished as part of the £20m Justice Walk development, which will boast a new library, offices and up to 65 homes in the Vicarage Street area.

The huge plan was given the green light to go-ahead, signalling not only the demolition of the sorting office but also the nearby Powell House building as well as the old home of Wilko and also the town's main library.

With the new sorting office on two-acre brownfield site which was formerly part of the famous Stanley Brick Works, almost complete, the building will then be handed over to Royal Mail.

A spokesperson for Deeley Group said: “We are nearing the completion of work on the new delivery office and preparing for handover to Royal Mail, who will then commence their fit-out programme." It is not yet known how long the fit-out will take nor when the new facility will officially open.

As well as the delivery office, there will also be new car-parking, with 60 spaces for staff and customers, including two electric vehicle charging bays. The building itself on Hazell Way will play home to more than 100 staff.
