A MAN tried to steal a postman’s trolley and satchel before fleeing in a Jaguar.

The man approached the postman, aged in his 40s, while he was delivering in Queens Park Avenue.

He reportedly tried to steal his post trolley and grabbed at his satchel bag before being pushed away.

The man then got into the back of a silver Jaguar parked on Mount Pleasant Drive.

It is reported that the driver of that vehicle then got out of the car and exchanged words with the postman before driving off.

Fortunately, the postman did not sustain any injuries and no items were stolen.

Police Constable Molly Macklin, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are making enquiries into this incident, and I am appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please contact us.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the driver of the silver Jaguar.

“I would also urge motorists with dashcam who were in the area at the time, as well as residents with home CCTV systems or doorbell cameras, to please check their footage to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55240031621.

Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.

"Employers are always seeking more productivity from workers, without considering the human factor, the worker's age, the weather conditions and the intense heat. We need to intervene before it's too late, reducing working hours and the load carried by workers, because it's impossible to sustain the rhythm they're forced to work at for many years."
