We really need to get customers back into the Post Offices to drop off their parcels.

They will spend more money on other products when they go there.

When they close for good they won't be re-opening.

Yeah that's what I thought, start with opening up tracked to be able to be purchased in a post office, this seems more like a move to copy evri/DPD using shops etc, you know the standard rm approach imitate rather than innovate.

Oh yeah and I can just imagine a whole new amount of "local collect" type stuff for these places when they get up and running, maybe like we've done at Argos for years, and it'll be whoever has the location on their duty that cops for it probably having to do a time consuming collection as well with no idea what amount of items will be to collect until they arrive.

We had to employ members of staff to man those, these are manned by the retailer, knowing RM they've convinced them not to charge them anything on the basis the customers will spend money in theirs shops when they are dropping off their parcels.

Yes, I don't get it. Royal Mail have been doing this for 100's of years. The callers office is safe, your parcels are secure for 18 days, it is in your locality, you can rearrange delivery . It's brilliant really.
Or you can dump it in a box by bargain booze.

There is nothing new about online shopping if you think about it. Way back when it's what most people did. They looked at brochures, catalogues fresh of the printing press and placed an order. It would arrive days , weeks later and be left at a post office for you or a servant to collect.

It's not really miles to your local delivery office, well it wasn't. Then there's re delivery to anywhere within your postcode, or at a day of your convenience...

Or they bring out a new product, the most recent example SD Next Day and they don't inform all staff about it. Even local management didn't know about it
