A shocked onlooker posted the moment that a Royal Mail vehicle parked on a pavement on Constitution Street in Leith on Sunday, January 21, which resulted in the tram being unable to move on the line.
An Edinburgh tram was forced to come to a halt on Sunday after a Royal Mail van parked on the pavement and blocked the route.
A shocked onlooker managed to take a photo of the vehicle, pictured on Constitution Street in Leith.
The image, shared with Edinburgh Live, shows the red van parked on the pavement outside a building with its front lights on. Stuck behind the vehicle, the tram was left waiting until the van moved off the line.
The onlooker claimed that by the Royal Mail vehicle parking on the pavement, the route wasn't blocked for just the tram, but also pedestrians walking on the pavement.
Posting on Twitter, Andrew Heald said: "Constitution Street in Leith on Sunday. If we want more people to use public transport, then it needs to run on time, all the time.

"If we want more people to walk and wheel then pavements need to be unobstructed. @RoyalMail please do better."
This isn't the first time that a tram has been blocked due to a rogue parked vehicle as on June 2, Edinburgh Live reported that a tram had to be guided past a parked van during a trial run of the much anticipated new route going to Newhaven.

What do they want? Postman finds car park the other side of town then walks 1/4 of a mile to deliver the parcel?
