Disenchanted companies desert Royal Mail

Business customers are deserting Royal Mail and most firms do not find the postal group an efficient organisation to work with, a study by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) for The Times has revealed.

The BCC sought the views of nearly 1,000 businesses throughout the country about their use of Royal Mail and their experience of the organisation.

Who exactly are these 'Business' customers who find Royal Mail an inefficient company to deal with? The same ones who gave loans to people they knew could not repay thereby bringing the banking system to the verge of collapse? The same ones who send their call centres abroad so when you ring them you cannot understand what is being said while you rack up your phone bill? The same ones that complain about the oil price yet make billions in profits from charging £5 a gallon for petrol? The same business leaders that destroyed British manufacturing because it was cheaper to have everything made in China and not worry about Health and Safety as children make trainers for pennies the companies then sell for pounds?

As for electronic communication. A recent item in a computer magazine said that no email is 100% reliable. Cheaper but not reliable. Which probably explains why when I signed up online to change my energy supplier I have subsequently received eleven letters informing me what was happening. And when I received a new credit card the PIN was sent through the post not by email. As the bank said they never ask for personal information via email because they know it is not safe. And these 'Business leaders' and opinion makers rely on electronic communications. At least until they mislay all the data on their ccds.

Royal Mail is not an efficient company but is no more inefficient that the rest of the companies - or government - in this country where profit has become the sole driving force at the expense of customer service and social obligations. Mrs Thatcher must be proud of the country she created which has been driven on in her image by Brown and Blair.

Whenever these businessmen talk about an inefficient Royal Mail what they actually mean is RM is too expensive and they want everything cheaper so that they can pay for another Audi TT or another coat of orange paint for their trophy wives.

the article does not provide date of survey, this could be an old one from last year, nor does it list the questions asked as maybe they were loaded ones. Great example of the Times a once respected daily providing misleading articles and sloppy journalism, i viewed full article and could see non of my points addressed.
No rivals have backed up this article as you would expect a journalist to coroborate the so called facts and post watch are not giving us a kicking over delay's etc. Do we have to post this rubbish ?

Yes, of course we should Post this type of Article. If we didn't, then we wouldn't be aware of when misleading stories are circulating about us.

If we don't know about these stories, we can't do anything about them. We already know, that the Press check this Site. It has been quoted before now. So if we are able to reply to misleading Articles, and explain why they are wrong. We have a chance of getting something done about it. Ok, we might not succeed. But at least we have the chance to try.
