LETTERS Royal Mail delay: 'Disgraceful' delays mean week's worth of post in one delivery

'Disgraceful' postal delivery delays

On Thursday July 21 we received what is now a regular occurrence, a week’s post in one day’s delivery.

Seven items, all variously postmarked including a greetings card posted to me by a friend living about two miles away. Postmarked 14th. Exactly a week earlier.

Would someone from the ludicrously entitled ‘Royal’ Mail organisation care to explain that?

Who knows, perhaps they might put up postage prices to further encourage people to use the mail service less - oh hang on a minute....the classic retail response; if no- one is buying it let’s push up the price even more.

Disgraceful.
Why do customer write to newspapers about RM, they wouldn't write to them if an Amazon parcel hadn't arrived, or their Tesco shopping was late, if they've got a complaint why not just write to RM directly?

Because Royal Mail don’t care about the customer and can brush it under the carpet with some lame excuse. But if they regularly get a bad reputation in the media for providing a poor service then large companies might not use them to deliver their products.

We live in a world today where there is no patience with anybody or anything. RM have made it very hard to contact customer services, gone are the days when you could simply phone your local DO and speak to a human who could sort things out for you straightaway.

Contact telephone numbers for CS have been removed from vans, and if you DO know the number and call it you are kept waiting for a stupid amount of time, before (if you are lucky) speaking to someone from heaven knows where who hasn't a clue about the problem.

So by going public the complainant gets attention!

Also gone now is the covid excuse.
