AN investigation into the intentional delay of mail has resulted in the suspension of one Forfar postie and the resignation of another.
Following rumours circulating town on Friday, a spokeswoman from Royal Mail issued the following statement:
"Royal Mail can confirm that one postman from Forfar delivery office has been suspended and another has resigned following an investigation into intentional delay of mail.
"It is a criminal offence to tamper with or delay the delivery of mail and anyone caught doing so will face serious disciplinary measures.
"It is also likely that a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in relation to both individuals.
"The safety and security of mail is of the utmost importance to this business and Royal Mail will not allow the actions of any individuals to damage the good reputation of our thousands of hard-working postmen and women."

I'm sorry but when are people, across the business going to get it into their thick heads that The Dims are on a killing spree. Meaning if you are not squeaky clean your dismissal means they get points against a target for increasing their bonuses, by getting rid of staff without severance pay.

At the top these "charismatic " people like blood on the carpet , that filters down the food chain , Big Al likes fear , uncertainty and doubt /bull**** to control his subordinates .Some of these managers are glorified s****hawks on the lookout for anything that can be blown out of all proportion for RM Brownie Points .
I nearly got sacked for having £40 of my takings stolen by a member of staff in a once similar industry , they didn't like me accusing an Asian Member of staff of doing it and though I'd witnesses they still tried to twist things round to wriggle out of it , that's with the Union Branch Secretary in with me .I'd have took the firm to Tribunal but that's a stressful experience , not for the faint hearted .
I'd the same problem trying to get it into people's thick heads as to how vindictive , openly hostile , small minded , desperate some managers were to avoid paying redundancy which was the bare state minimum and traveling time if you had redundancy /resettlement .

Which is why I advocate a work to your hours week. I know it will be hard on people but until we point out by action if needed that they can only cut so many hours, then they will keep coming back. The thing is they are cutting hours now on deliveries before these all singing all dancing machines come in. No doubt they will be after more duties and hours when they do.jockthearab wrote:I wonder when the RM's FBI are gonna come to our office to investigate the willful delay in parcels ,we are back to the same levels of parcels we had lying about during the strike .There was 3 off duty managers trying to deliver them this morning ,NO RM will turn a blind eye to the managements "Spanish Practices" We dont have enough staff to do the job anymore :cfo :lfoTrueBlueTerrier wrote: "It is a criminal offence to tamper with or delay the delivery of mail and anyone caught doing so will face serious disciplinary measures.

Apparently one or both were helping themselves to the RLB mail
