ROYAL MAIL PENSION REFORM PROPOSALS â€“ CWU CONSULTATIVE BALLOT

It has been brought to our attention that the distribution of the â€˜CWU Consultative Ballotâ€™ paper to Branches has been delayed. This is as a result of problems outside the control of the Union and Parcelforce have informed us that the difficulty has now been rectified.

As a consequence it has been agree to put the closing date of the ballot back to 12.00 midday Monday 31st March 2008.

If you have enquiries regarding the delay of ballot papers then please contact the Senior Deputy General Secretaryâ€™s department at CWU Headquarters for the attention of Peter Metcalfe.

Any enquiries regarding Royal Mailâ€™s Pension Reforms should be directed to the DGS (P) Department.

Outside the union's control!
Well even given the union the benefit of the doubt that it the latest delay has nothing to do with them, why are they so late with organising this ballot? And why a consultative ballot rather than a strike ballot? The union has dragged its feet because some of them at least, and including our beloved leader Billy Hayes are shitbag labourite careerists who don't want to rock the boat and damage their career prospects.

If RM are imposing the pensions change on 1st April it is executive action and we should strike immediatly. The only thing that would stop RM and this Labour (Bosses) government in their tracks would be a real fight back from posties. If on the day RM say they are introducing the change there was a big unofficial strike wave not based simply on union types contacting each other but on posties going from office to office bringing each other out that would really cause the bastards to back down but will the union be up for this - not likely they don't want workers action that gets out of their control!

What - again??? Its been shifted twice now - the closing date one day before the pension change is implemented???

I don't want you blokes to think the pension consultation has been a waste of time, nor the consultative ballot, nor the assurances of the CWU that they are fighting our corner because like all things it is beyond their control.
