My rota day off is the Saturday. What happens there? Am I on strike, or on a day off (and therefore being paid)?!

You dont get paid for your day off, so its a day off...

Why?

Because you don't ever get paid for your days off

Yeah we are hourly paid, not salaried. So I'll get my usual hours minus the strike day that week.

From what i understand though, this time if you are on annual leave you lose pay for any days you would have been working had you been at work... whereas before they paid you when you were on annual leave...

I work in a Mail Centre Tues-Sat 06-12-14-00 will go in to work on the Thursday like you do our shift till 14-00 and not return to work untill the following Tuesday.
You will go back in Monday unless that is you're rest day

Just to clarify everything.

If your start time is before 11:00 on Thursday 19th October you will work normally that day. You will be on strike on Friday 20th and until the end of your shift on Saturday 21st.

If you start at 11:00 or after on Thursday 19th you will be on strike on Thursday and Friday and unless you start after 11 on the Saturday you will not resume until Monday.

Whilst the offices are out on strike all normal over time and SA is part of the strike.



The strike for delivery offices is Friday 20th and Saturday 21st.

To my reckoning they didn't specifically target 'heavy' or 'light' days. It's just that this is the earliest opportunity.

I heard that they were having a meeting today anyway so 2 weeks today is the soonest possible date.

Good on them, I reckon. Fast decisive action has the best chance of success in my opinion because RM seemed so confident in being able to drag it all out to beyond Christmas before action.

I think this is a very strong 1st move! after that if they don't start to come round turn up the pressure Black Friday,Saturday and Monday and Tuesday the following week 4 days all out 2 days pay off each week

I thought it meant go into work as normal on Thursday, head back to the office and down tools for 11am. Back to work at 11am on Saturday and cutoff at your finish time.

I know what you are saying but this will always happen be it leave or days off but last time they rotated the days so it didn't fall on the same peoples days off so this something the union will think about.

So the next time it could fall on your day off and then it's the other peoples turn
