Clearly we are completely f****d if we don't strike. Look at what people have posted in terms of what RM is planning, there is no alternative weve got to fight! Some people are confused and downhearted because the PEC called off the strike for over a month for nothing, but the job is to rebuild momentum.

We all know that jobs are going with automation and they would get as many VR as they could handle, but these new proposals are worse than the original 22 strings.I cant believe the union has not called an all out or even 2 to 3 day strikes after 5 weeks of talking this is what they come up with time for dave ward to get his act together and inform the members what they are going to do.

When we strike we will not see an immediate effect by getting all our demands met that is impossible.blackadder wrote:u missing the point iww. point im making is, do u fink a strike will change anyfing. not a couple of quid in the back pocket either. will we save 40,000 jobs, will we get our pension at 60, will we save royal mail ?? yeah i strike like last time cos striking is a lot better then not striking but will it mean the above ?? i like 2 fink it will
If we don't strike or work to rule we will feel the effects for years to come as has been the case when action wasn't taken in the past,we are now suffering.

Yes there will be job losses in the future wether we strike or not. But those job losses will be done through negotation with our union and those people who choose to leave will do so under favourable terms and conditions negotiated by our union. Yes there will be changes to our working day but those changes will be achieved through negotation with our union with any changes being supplemented with increases in our pay negotiated by our union.
Yes we do face an uncertain future which is why we need more than ever agreements negotiated by our union and not something implemented one day because RM management thinks it will work.
Yes we do need to strike to show that we back our union and we dont want to work in an industry which is run by people who I wouldn't trust to make a decision with the remote control for my telly.

No to job losses: no to attacks on terms and conditions;no to pensions robbery; no to pay cuts.johnston65 wrote:Yes there will be job losses in the future wether we strike or not. Yes to improved terms and conditions; yes to a decent pay rise;yes to guarantees securing pension benefits that we were promised.
Only my opinion of course, but not unreasonable i hope, and worth fighting for

I think it is good that the strikes show that we support the union, however we have to be careful and not fall into the complacency trap that the union will resolve everything for us.johnston65 wrote:Yes there will be job losses in the future wether we strike or not. The union will sometimes rather we didn't rock the boat and go along with everything they tell us,but sometimes we have to take things into our own hands as we are the ones on the ground feeling the day to day pressure and they are not.
