Dear Colleagues,

Pay Claim 2017 and Four PiIlars of Security Campaign – National Industrial Action

The CWU’s Postal Executive met today, Thursday 5th October 2017, to agree the next
steps in our Pillars of Security campaign.
In light of the huge turnout and massive YES vote, the Postal Executive have today
notified the company of our intention to take the following Industrial Action:
The strike will cover all duties, scheduled attendance and overtime commencing
between on or after 11:00am on Thursday 19th October 2017 and before 11:00am on
Saturday 21st October 2017.

Please find attached for your information a copy of the Press Release from the CWU.
Any enquiries in relation to the content of this LTB should be addressed to the DGS(P)
Department.

Got to say the Union have not messed about here giving little time for management to come up with contingency plans, saying that it takes management about 6 months to sort holiday leave out and then they get that wrong so no worries then.

My rota day off is the Saturday. What happens there? Am I on strike, or on a day off (and therefore being paid)?!

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

From what i understand though, this time if you are on annual leave you lose pay for any days you would have been working had you been at work... whereas before they paid you when you were on annual leave...

Annual leave is accrued and owed they must pay you as you have earned it and are due it and it has been allocated so this is not true go see your rep if you have any problems.
