In my opinion the momentum could of all ready been lost in a lot of offices, the two 48 hour strikes hurt the workforce badly and many are struggling to make it up as the overtime has been knocked on the head, the mail centers are full of casuals/agency staff, striking posties dont get a look in to clear any backlog.
A lot of the workers have lost faith in the union over the fiasco with the agreement, the PEC taking a age to go through it,worst of all has been the lack of comminucation,it would not be hard work for the CWU website to be kept up to date more often,at times like this it should be updated 2 or 3 times a day,any member of headquarters staff could even do the updates from home, most people have access to the internet at home now days.
Dont get me wrong i am not slagging the union off,i think they work hard in these meetings with the likes of Crozier & Lieghton, the lads and lasses just want to be kept up to date.I really do hope the union & RM get "Clarafication"on a few items they have problems with.
I dont agree with calls for unofficial IA and would have to think long and hard, the union would be fined an obscene amount and RM could go for the throat and bankrupt the CWU
I would however adhere to any official IA,but please get it right this time, that was most embarrassing when the High Court ruled the official strikes as unlawful.
