I suppose we'll just have to be happy being led around by the Yanks then. Closing hospitals and schools, running down public services, all working until we drop because the bosses have robbed the pension scheme blind. After all, this is the very best system which can be devised by man. I'll have to remember that soon when I'm doing a fifth of someone elses delivery for no extra pay.

But in both sides of the debate i feel there are valid points... Nearly always are...?

Our real fight is the establishment and there underlings that keep the system up and running the way it is..

Now there are many factors that the grey suits keep us under and we fight back...

They drip feed us bullshite to devide us... Yes There is a Right wing slant to the imigration issues But it dont mean that the issue isnt a real one..... In my view it is... Now the point on imigrants wanting to work... That is a sweeping statement and not all want firstly to work.. They do get and know this get hand outs just to by walking into this country... WHY??? In this country there are many places that are all geared up by 2nd wave imigrants to send back to there countrys of origin Monies and this is on the incline... FACT The £££ is being sent out of the country at an alarming rate... WHY and how can this be aloud to happen...? I see it everyday in London... Many might not see this as they dont live in a highly populated area like i do but its no right wing propaganda slant...
On the other side the people that reside here thru generations have an amount to shoulder the blame.. People want a hand out and expect a living for nothing... So the imigrants filll the gaps that they leave... Going back to the 50's and peoples from India West Indies and Pakistan came... They picked up the jobs that most wouldnt do... And fair play to em!! We the voting public are the problem.. When we are happy for countless goverments to hoodwink the people then it is our duty to find a solution and as a Englishman i want wot is best for my country and as British i want the best for her as well...

Its our duty to put right wrongs of our history YES but im not paying for it in kind over and over again with peoples that only want to rape this country as the fat cats do the same.... My one and only fight is the people who let injustice go on....

I hate to be the bearer on bad news but you don't own the land your house is built on. Maybe you rent it maybe you don't but if someone digs a mine under your house then it's your problem because you don't own the land (same goes if you find oil/gold/silver etc.).

I really doubt Yarls Wood is an easy touch Tommo. But since you brought up the English, they're just a bunch of Germans who arrived here centuries ago and took the land from those of us who were here before them. good debate i think iww brought it back to reality, are migrants and asylum seekers really the reason why we're going to be doing another 5th of a walk, working an extra five years, covering our workmates when they go off sick etc, or is it the market, privatisation, billionaire profiteering at the expense of the workers - in a word, capitalism?

good post Tommo the only thing to remember is that aall these poor countries used to be colonies and they may be "independent" now but they are still dominated by Britain, EU, US, etc. Countries in Africa and Asia are crushed under the third world debt owed to US and British banks, multinational companies from here plunder their resources - and invade when they want more, like that recent war for oil Iraq, guess whose going to get all those rich oild contracts? Exxon, BP, Shell etc.

migrant workers arent bleeding us, our government and capitalists are bleeding their countries. The boomerang is that out of desperate poverty a few manage to squeeze through the barbed wire and come here looking for work. Why to Britain? Well Germany actually has more refugees and migrants than britian but lots come here because of the old British empire - loads of people speak english or have family or a community here.

There is a place for Immigration and assylum seekers IF found legal But im wanting a fair call for people with a legitimate case of political or race hate cases... Not necessarily - but it does work. As for trouble and strife? - what society hasn't been founded on aggression? Hitler, Franco and Mussolini were all fascists, one step removed from a communist in my book - thrown up in a single generation and hardly a reflection of capitalism.

The USSR and China were state capitalist systems as well. Both Stalinism/Maoism and Fascism were the result of the failure of the working class to mount a successful revolution after the Cold War (although they had a good go at it, from Japan, to Argentina to Germany, not just Russia). The counter-revolution in Russia came from inside the workers own organisations (Keggie!), in Italy, Germany and Japan it was the right wing that won out. In both cases we saw a massive strengthening of the state and the subjugation of the working class, and in all those countries there was resistance to this right from the '30s through to the '70s/'80s with varying levels of success.

What about Martin Luther King, John F Kennedy and Nelson Mandela all thrived (eventually) in a capitalist system and did not decry it at all.

Im aware of the third world debt... Yes We did have an Empire and it stretched far and wide... Taking the future wealth from these countrys and peoples from there countries as well and putting them in the jobs that we were to lazy to do...

We need to stand up to world debt but i dont think this is a site to work out the downfall of W.G.Bush and the G8...

It certainly does. In 1905 in the US, the IWW was set up as a union for ALL workers because the bosses were using immigrant workers as a cheap source of labour. The US unions affiliated to the AFL (their equivalent of the TUC) wouldn't have them, or unskilled workers of any kind in membership. The IWW union might not be everyone's cup of tea, but they were one of the first to see ALL workers as equals and the bosses as the real enemy. There was also the CNT in Spain whose ideas were similar. For me, the only way to defeat the bosses, their system and their wars is for all workers to unite. So there!
