Additionally to the above update there has also been progress on the general issues - phase 4

London was always going to be an issue giving the fact that the members there had lost 20 days pay and been involved in a very bitter dispute.

Maybe instead of being on here gobbing off you should be asking your reps why they are reporting your area as having no problems.............. CWU HQ can't be blamed for everything. Also to some extend neither can your reps. Perhaps rather than standing by and sniping you should become a rep..... oh I forgot you're too old, been there done that etc etc etc......

We are in a very serious situation with the employer now and what we need more than ever is unity. I agree the lack of info from HQ is just not good enough but how the hell people can jump to conclusions and attack the union without even waiting for the full update is poor.......... I just hope you are as vocal when challenging RM!!??

A Joint statement has been agreed to cover off the outstanding issues in London.

Reviews will now be weekly to make sure RM are abiding by the agreement.

Thanks Lovejoy. I have been asking for real information, but not this. The split in the union is real then? The Mail centres processing, distribution and collections will view this topic as the death knell for all of us who backed a NATIONWIDE all Inclusive problem throughout Royal Mail. Now we are told London is the only problem area. Whoopee, tell that to the indoor people who have lost duties, had duty times changed, all without agreement.

all bonuses are abated for IA and every agreement which include a bonus payment will have a section that deducts pay for IA..... whether local, national, unofficial or official. I know its difficult with the lack of information but you've made something of nothing on this issue
So we are going out on strike again, then ? So the 'in the unlikely event of strikes' wording of this year's agreement is something the PEC's actions are going to prove is yet more RM bullsh!t ???

Not bloody likely :mad Unless, of course, you know different .... :wave

still bulying in London
still taking people off pay in London
no agreements have been made in London

once we are down you will be next

if we dont use christmas to our advantage
get the mobile phone on sound record
keep a note pad handy

write down any instance of bulying coz you will need it in the tribunal next year

either that or be prepared to work like a donkey and past your time for nothing and do everything they say.
your family and life will be second

Listen lovejoy you come on here with snippets of information and spout about solidarity and how hard done by the Londoners have been. The truth of the matter is I speak the truth and do not prevaricate about poor communication and what has been for the last two years a total disregard for any complaints of RM bullying, harassment and EA - unlike you I am not a union apologist nor do I hanker for a cushy union job. You say time after time how poor the communication is from HQ but YOU always seem to come up with just that little dribble to soften the troops up for the kill. You don't have to tell me how serious the situation is with the employer I see it every day - maybe I just don't see the BIG PICTURE.

I have heard through the grapevine that there have been meetings both in London and elsewhere specific to those areas - and still you speak of solidarity - I don't answer to you, and whilst this is an open forum I WILL say what I like, if you don't like it - tough.

"The truth of the matter is I speak the truth"

You speak the truth as you see it and that isn't quite the same thing, is it?
And no- I am not in London.
And no - I am not hankering after a cushy union job.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Perhaps you will correct me as to where you think the error of my way is and then the truth will set me free.

spillie you are spot on,London has indeed been "ringfenced" to use one of dingo's phrases and now has it's very own negotiations with the assistance of ACAS to resolve it's obviously unique difficulties......Solidarity forever :cuppa

During this dispute i've been asked by my non cwu work collegues what pay to be in the cwu?
I've been a postie and cwu memeber for 20 years and have walked out when asked during the various disputes but i'm finding it harder as the weeks go on to give reasons to remain a member of a trade union that can't even be bothered to update it's members via email or a froum such as this and appears to be well out of there depth.

Why should london be negotiated seperately?
You state united we stand but quite obviously were not united when london is being looked at differently. Other offices have had duties changed by executive action, other offices have faced bullying and harassment by managers so why are London offices different to the rest of us, we pay the same union subs don't we?

Re this 'Stay strong brothers and sisters, united we stand divided we fall and we all know RM management love to try to divide us all up and have us fighting amongst ourselves '

Then if the cwu are serious then let your members know whats happening , if anything's going to break this union its the cwu's lack of information, surely it wouldn't be too hard to have a members briefing email once a week rather than people hearing bits of stories form here and there.

It should not be treated any differently but we need national solutions to this locally outside London we have been ripped to pieces and now it is London's turn but it don't make it right for anyone in London or outside London the only way we can improve our lot is together with NEW NATIONAL AGREEMENT'S on 35 Hour week for all with out loss of pay nor breaks and an end to bullying and being taken off pay!. amongst other things pay is by and large not the issue it once was but pensions and sick pay and the general way we are all treated whether in London or outside London is it is a matter for all to be concerned!.

Its obvious whats being said reading between the lines,in this statement, ffs. Dave ward has got his way re our london brothers, fair play to him! I just WANT Billy Hayes to demand the same for the rest of us.
We ALL have to take in ALL of RM'S LIES about mail volumes decreasing yadda yadda yadda but we're getting shafted big time EVERYWHERE. Whether this means a change at the top of the CWU then so be it.
But be warned the only bastarts that are loving whats happening at this moment are TNT!
London WILL win this battle, but mark my words, they will not win the war.
