I've made a point during recent months of returning (unopened, naturally) any form of propaganda from RM under standard returns procedure including the Courier. Perhaps it's about time that there was such a mass concensus to return all of their mailings amongst all staff in view of it being inevitably a hollow propaganda tool? Inevitably we are read out these tired scripts at WTL sessions anyway. The Courier presents an about-as truthful version of RM operations as you'd expect in Pre-Glasnost Pravda or any Murdoch rag; the letters pages responses are particularly laughable for their side-stepping of pertinent questions. Although I may change my stance if ever there's a forecast national toilet paper shortage... :cfo

I've done that for years. I remember an anti-stike article in the Courier way back in 2000 which shower a photo of a picket line taken outside my office. People were clearly identifiable. We were striking to get a five day week at the time. I invited the author of the piece to come and work on deliveries for two weeks. The editor on his behalf declined. I've never read it since. It just gets returned unopened. There should be some way of opting out of this junk mail.

Absolutely right! "Poor working practices"? Like traipsing around until 4 pm on a Saturday with a bag of advertisements which are hardly so important that they won't keep until Monday?

"Poor working practices"? Like watching some little s**t with three years service talking down to someone with 10, 20 or 30 years service?

If we want a future, we're going to have to strike for it, and keep on striking.

The RM spin letter reveals how low they will stoop, loving the response letter. Even more reason to support the strike.

"We must get more income from packets and home shopping to fund the universal service to the public." is this not the job of PARCELFORCE and not the POSTMAN?
