Royal Mail buy a billion elastic bands

We must be doing something right if the most common complaint to Royal Mail is about elastic bands on the floor.

Once again, the muppets that report have no idea of statistics. "1 billion, that sounds like loads" thay say "imagine having 1 billion elastic bands dropped on your doorstep". Sometime syou want to slap people.

On the other hand, why have they bought 1 billion elastic bands? 1,000,000,000 for 100,000 employees is 10,000 bands each. Even if I did throw them all on the street every day I'd find it hard to use that many in a year. Unless of course it's another bollocks story that misses the 5 year contract to supply bio-degrable bands that don't last very long so there isn't a major problem if they are dropped on the floor.
