Then you need to get your Dom to take that van round the block to test it ( ask with a rep present) to prove it is your driving and not a faulty trimble

My scores improved once I had read the trimble poster that was pinned to a noticeboard, previously I thought that revving the engine too high triggered it but after reading what it measures I was able to change my driving style and now I get in the high 90's every day. The trimble measures change in speed in meters per second for either accelerating or cornering, it doesn't matter which gear you are in. Pull off slowly and avoid depressing the accelerator hard, just enough to prevent stalling. Also your scores will be greatly reduced if you go over the posted speed limit even by a small amount.

Wouldn't surprise me if it were to including tracking functionality so they could see where any given van is at a given time

They already do, it is called a PDA and it leaves "breadcrumbs" so managers can tell where you parked when you have stopped working, when you are driving and when you are walking. I think it would be pointless to fit all their vehicles with tracking unless there is a sudden rise in vans being stolen or broken into.

It has GPS tracking so it transmits position and speed with all data from engine management system so if you break the speed limit I.e.40 mph in a 30 mph zone that information is available also it registers how long the engine is left idling

Try doing that when you're pulling out onto a 60mph limit road.

Had it for years. Beeps at me everytime i hit a pot hole or go round a corner in 3rd

Mine beeped the other day while I was sat at traffic lights. And it was going from green to amber! Turning van off and on 70 times a day on a rural delivery you get through a starter motor every 18 months, had two on mine, and a new key. Mind you, it's better than idling for 10 secs while you step out and post mail into the box two feet from the door......or so I'm told.

70 times a day.....more like over 300 times a day.

Does this data collected by Trimble use GPS?

Is this the stuff that also appears on the MyDoorstep page on our PDA dashboards?

My DOM told me I was being flagged for excessive speed on Trimble but, as usual, my speeding records show a big fat '0' for the last week!
