No, I don't want 1 wave, but something has to give as I said, it's us at the moment. To be frank the constant it won't work we get from MC workers only grates because it looks like you can't accept we are at our wit's end, we want solutions to our problems and I don't think its beyond the wit of man to come up with something different other than piling it on to deliveries.

There's only one solution, more permanent staff in MCs, some days I reckon we're literally outnumbered by the casuals

Then MCs need to put pressure on Royal Mail because we really are nearing a breaking point. Perhaps Area Delivery reps need to give Processing reps an insight and a helping hand as I thought casuals were only meant to be a temporary resource, not a permanent one.

Are the local processing reps pushing Royal Mail on the issue?

did not notice dave wards name down for the talks big palaver when moya would not get to the table then again if your not there you cant get the flack when the s**t hits the fan

afaik the area processing rep is flagging it up, I would assume that the local managers will be flagging it up as well

It's got be a big no on the finish times. Deliveries already to the max. US on the front line seriously need some help. Come on cwu take a good look at us posties we are being pushed to the limit and now there's talk of finishing even later? We need to all vote no even if there is just one mention of later finish times .

The reason why Moya was pressured into attending the talks was that Royal Mails side couldn't make a decision without first calling her for approval. Apparently, even when they made progress someone further up the food chain refused to endorse/accept the change.

On the Unions side, Dave Ward's job is the whole Union, not just the Postal Side. The postal side is lead by Terry Pullinger and the PEC, they have the authority from conference to enter into negotiations until they reach an agreement that they believe the membership will accept.

Dave Ward has attended some of the meetings, but to expect him to attend all would be akin to having the Queen attending each Brexit meeting with the EU.

Totally agree, have the union mentioned anything about the bullying and harassment on the floor day to day ,grevances being ignroed all the time , the final mile is the hardest job in royal mail by far

Apparently the union brought it up in the meetings but Royal Mail don't believe it's a widespread issue. In the mediators report it mentions:

The discussions on this issue revealed a considerable difference of opinion
concerning the state of employee relations and morale at delivery offices. The
Union’s view was that morale was low, OPGs recruited on part time contracts
were being required to work significant additional hours whether they wished to
or not, a bullying culture developed as managers struggle to meet performance
targets and passed this pressure on to employees and that managers were
increasingly making deliveries themselves. The Employer did not accept that
these were wide spread issues and pointed out that this was not the situation
revealed by the results of the latest Employee Opinion Survey undertaken by
IPSOS/MORI in February / March 2017.

You'd think the ballot result would give them some inkling!

1. They don't get paid for them. (nor do we)
2. We get a supplement of around 50p an hour.
3. Their supplement is about 1/3 of that.

Although the logic of your argument fails as MCs do handle them, how do they get to us in DOs.

Stop the supplement for them then ... if you want to be precise . I'm sure they all handle the leaflets ? and enjoy lumping them round in the cold and wet ... the logic of your argument fails

This forum is called royal mail chat , if like many of my colleagues in delivery feel disgruntled by this I think it's worth a mention . Logic or no logic ...
