Progress on highly secretive Royal Mail strike talks to be revealed

We on the verge of agreeing one pension scheme which both Royal Mail and the CWU willl commit to and it needs legislative approval and both parties will lobby to get a colllective wage in retirement DC scheme.

This will mean for the first time for many all pay and pensionable allowances will be pensionable removing the lower earnings limit and for the first time allowing DC scheme members to in the future have their pension boosted by any pensionable allowances they currently receive.

Obviously whilst both Lobby to get the pension changes through there needs to be transitional arrangements from April 2018. This is still subject to debate but Royal Mail have offered in interim ro transfer all DB members into the DBCBS scheme and anyone with 5 years or more in the DC scheme and for those who have served more than 12 months in the nursery DC scheme they will be auto enrolled into the highest tier of the DC scheme ie 6% employee and 10% employer scheme.

Royal Mail have upped their pay offer and we have rejected and the mediator has recommended a 2.6% pay rise backdated to April 2017 flowing through to allowances.

2% has been offered from April 19 with an hour off the working week.

We have shifted Royal Mail on the pipeline they have dropped the 17:00 and are proposing a range of last letter from 14:30 to 15:30 . The CWU have not agreed this and won’t until it knows what the Mail Centre, RDC and CSS can produce and dependent on the SWW.

Automated Data Capture significantly down dialled and will be subject to trials.

So no deal yet but real progress which allows for further talks. So definitely no sell out !

Pretty much what I said earlier as far as I can see.
Bit more flesh on the bones but basically the same

"So no deal yet but real progress which allows for further talks. So definitely no sell out !" It is real progress but it still falls far short of a deal that anybody could recommend but there is talks tomorrow and next week so let's see what come's of them and then judge.
