Remember that outward, inward and DSA need to get between SOMC and the new DO. Have heard that even though the pompey night 600 drivers are moving to SOMC, they will be working out of Slindon Street and then the new DO when it opens, which means Pompey/rural inward and DSA would get to either place by artic.

Gossip has it that an imp may have to be removed from somc at some point after end of nightshirt migration due to lack of space. Even with expansion works completed not enough space. So no room for po Css machines. So even if they were moved from DO they couldn't go there.

Plus my understanding is that there are questions over new DO Being just big enough to accommodate current po 1-6 walks without new housing development delivery points thrown in to the mix. So even if css machines were moved to another location room would soon be swallowed up by those expanding deliveries.

So the writing could be on the wall for SO MC? - I think it already is - there's talk of a new packet sorting machine for Swindon and some of the second class packets from SOMC are already going there (info from logistics drivers). That was how the decline of POMC started - 2c mech and packets going to SOMC.

There is already a Cosham delivery office and the plan is to close it and the work to go to the new Pompey DO. None of the other rural offices in the area, such as Havant, could take the PO6 work.

Their new packet sorting machine comes online this year, there's a thread about it somewhere. What areas are adjacent to Cosham (apart fro PO 1-5)?

None of the other offices in the area would have the space to take in PO6 deliveries and their vehicles (private and RM).
