Very funny. Totally agree with that. You've described more than half of my colleagues with those 2 words. Some cannot understand why anyone would be bothered by nesting. Just cos they chuck theirs in the bin without looking at them, they assume that every customer does too. Actually, they usually pull theirs out of the frame and chuck it in a box underneath. They often end up with the neighbour's'by accident'!

if it saves jobs fair enough..but I really don't put nesting an election leaflet inside a D2D or council booklet high up on the reasons why democracy is on its arse..and I can guarantee the people getting in a kerfuffle about it are the same people who allow coca cola to tart up a school play ground or allow an Olympic athlete to sell ye a bank loan...I give the average punter the benefit o the doubt that they know farmfoods are not standing in the European elections...

How about sending the DTD out to offices in sleeves like they were supposed to be. I guess it's just easier to blame the posties hey!

They were never SUPPOSED to do that. And given that it would rip even more hours out of your indoor work, who would even want it?

And if you are told not to nest your D2D and you continue to do it, who else should shoulder the blame for it?

I can't even be arsed arguing with you....but I will. The Union and Royal Mail said they were going to look into sleeving them, so in theory you're right. However many postmen including myself took this as read that they would sleeve the dtd when on certain weeks the dtd contracts hit silly numbers, By that I mean over 3. As an average 3 dtd contracts are put in duty builder during revisions. Flexing up should then happen if the traffic is at or above model week and if the dtd contracts hit over 3 on those weeks then it stands to reason that this is added pressure and volunteers should be asked to come in early for IPS, and/or other arrangements can be made in order to get postmen out that little bit earlier. However this doesn't happen in a lot of offices. So what you are saying is not entirely correct about more hours being taken out.

Sleeving D2D contracts was mooted as an idea for regularly over 6. The investment in the automation obviously had to be cost effective.
Trials took place - they even borrowed a special Lego machine.
The trials were apparently stopped early.
Why would you want the time for 1 D2D in your indoor work instead of 3 or 6?

And if your office isn't allocated sufficient time for D2D prep, then that would either show up as overtime claims or cut offs.
