the second pay increase is inclusive of the first 3% payrise and the third, inclusive of both payrises. the 9.06% is the rise from our current rate .... I think

but its not 3 % on todays pay though.

You are using simple percentages to make it 8.8% which means you're adding each rise onto our current wage, but ignoring the effect of the any previous increase on the new wages.

To make it simple

You are doing this

£100 + 3% = £103 +3% = £106 + 2.8% = £108.80

When you should be doing this
£100 + 3% = £103 + 3% = £106.09 + 2.8% = £109.08

The posties will never win.. I have been with the company 11 years and we have been shafted every time..


The first time I experienced industrial action the CWU SHAFTED us with that 3 phase modernisation plan.. The problem with that was.. They never told us what phase 1,2 or 3 consisted of. Then we ended up doing everything we went out on strike about, being told "Oh that's part of the phase 1 modernisation agreement... SHAFTED!!!!

The Second time was the fake shares that were part of the agreement... SHAFTED!!!!

AND I gurantee we will be SHAFTED once again on this deal....

So Clash how did your revision go? I presume you are delivering from a HCT to tenements? do you do loops from the trolley and are they based on 5kg bags etc and in practice are your office following procedure? my office revision started out not too bad with a promise of adjusting about a fifth of the duties but as the packets have increased its descended into a free for all without a plan to deal with the packet/parcel increase and meanwhile the ASM is hovering to cut hours.

You'll get them - The pay rise is for everyone working in Royal Mail (except casuals), the lump sum the same, the £200 (PR) bonus you had to be in post sometime in October - the rest of the bonuses I have to honest not 100% certain but pretty sure you will also get Pro rata of course.
