I can be flexible and cover walks when they want me too. As long as they sign my overtime docket I can be very flexible. Work beyond my 8 hours for nothing, they can shove it right up where the sun don't shine :lfo

So do Royal Mail, but they want you to give up and do the d2d for nothing, or if you are in a mail centre cover for s/l a/l for nothing.
Then of course they want to reduce your pension, and have you coming in at all different times of the day. Remember the long term aim of Royal Mail is to reduce you pay by 25% and increase your workload by 40%. As a postman the d2d free delivery and covering your colleagues for nothing will get them part of the way there.
And don't think this is where it will stop if the union lose. This is just stage one for Royal mail, if we lose they will be back next year for much more!

If we lose most of us will be out the door by next year via the imposed conduct/attendance procedure, Bradford scale, 3 days sick and {at your managers discression ] you are fired. That'll bite more

deal or no deal?

the rumour machine is well up and running but it is to be expected as this whole situation is becoming very intense and stressful. there's no crystal ball here and people just hang on the smallest thread of positive news. This is the critical point in this dispute. I'm a local rep and on the picket line today most of the branch/area reps were there and they've got close links to postal executive members and the word is that progress is slow. the key word is 'progress'. at least there making some. its gotta be rough in that room and id like to be a fly on the wall. must be like pulling teeth. and you know for a fact they f***ing hate each other.

Just come back from night shift picket. few people and some brought their kids down. great atmosphere. fire on the go and also the best red and green Thai curry I've ever had thanks to one of the posties Thai Mrs. worth staying out for!

I'll put a wager on that parasite c*** Leighton getting involved at the last minute (.com) and trying to take the credit for brokering a deal just to try and save his reputation. hes took on more than he bargained for and hes on the back foot and he cant deny it. and when its sorted and it will be, its US, YOU and all the members and non members who have withdrawn their labour that will take the credit. watch this space.

need to go to bed but overdosed on thai curry and im stuffed. Im on strike funds here gotta eat while its there....

How could we be sacked after 3 days sick?? does it not mean those with a long record will be out the door with the new changes?
