AGREEMENT REACHED!!

Dear All,

Had a meeting with a PEC Member today who informed me that there is a PEC meeting on Monday, and I have been told to keep either Wed or Thur free in my diary for a National Briefing.

WE SHOULD WAIT TILL MONDAY TO SEE WHAT OCCURS, YES.
BUT BEING THE ETERNAL PESSIMIST, I UNFORTUNATELY HAVE BECOME FROM YEARS IN THE,JOB THE LIKELYHOOD OF A GOOD
AGREEMENT IS A LITTLE OPTOMISTIC GOING BY AGREEMENTS OF PAST(WAY FORWARD,SDD ETC)
WILL RM USE EXECUTIVE ACTION IN THIS ONE AS THEY HAVE IN OTHERS------WILL THEY LET THE 22 STRINGS GO???

Hmmm, well I am mindful of the comments made already, but, I (personally) believe:

1. That we should trust what POSTMAN says.

2. That we should have patience - we have waited for this for months, couple more days should not make that much difference.

3. Whatever the agreement is I KNOW that the CWU negotiators will have, and will continue to have, the BEST interests of the MEMBERSHIP at heart.

I will await Monday now with baited breath...I do hope it's a good deal and not just for us buggers in the mail centre's and DO's but everyone including our colleagues in the stalag luft MDEC's...Just hope no cave in's have occurred....At then end of the day it's us the members who say whether we think it's a good deal or not. Roll on Monday and a "good deal" so I can give my gaffer a hard time :lfo :cfo

Sorry but there is no deal as we stand at the moment.
They are still miles apart on 2 big issues as i understand which are pensions and flexibility.
Thats all i have been told but they are meeting again this afternoon. Bob and Dave have been waiting for 3 hours for RM to reconviene the meeting. Any reports of a deal are incorrect.

So no statement of fact by OP he said it was from a source. Also please take caps lock off it looks like your shouting and makes your post look aggressive which I am sure was not the intention.

Maybe they agreed to carry on the confidential talks?

If they drag it out long enough we might be able to combine this years dispute with next years. That way , every day of IA we could be striking twice.Hows that for an efficiency saving.

Thanks as this so call leaks and rumours is doing my head in as both sides agreed not to leak any info until they try trash out an agreement there is no point in crying about it till then
