The cancelled strike
When I went home Thursday morning I was taking strike action on the night time, so making the most of this I went for apint or three in a different town, I then recieved a phone call several pints later from my daughter telling me it was cancelled. Now as a driver theres no way I could have done my job that night, and don't think they would have liked me going in segging stinking of beer. I hear that I am still classed as taking industrial action so will not get paid for this. I understand this but think its a bit hard as this strike was called off after 3pm, couldn't there have been a cut off time of say 1pm, bad enough losing money with strike action but now lost it through unofficial action.

Re: The cancelled strike
In the joint statement, RM, and the CWU have agreed that anyone not attending work will still be regarded as taking official action, as it can be considered reasonable for anyone who last attended work, and was informed the strike is still on for their next duty, to still believe this to be the case.postiebob wrote:When I went home Thursday morning I was taking strike action on the night time, so making the most of this I went for apint or three in a different town, I then recieved a phone call several pints later from my daughter telling me it was cancelled.
