PEC is the postal excutive of the CWU

All members are elected on a yearly basis.

Noel Mclean Rising star of the CWU and member of my branch (Eastern 5) area delivery rep immediatley prior to the present incumbent topped the ballot this year.

You say RM are in the sh!t. They are actually admitting that? In that case, wtf has it taken Crozier and Leighton so long to act? Just wttf are they playing at? They were adamant they'd not budge - now there appears to be slight movement because their in the sh!t. Tough on them, eh?!

I say continue putting these w@nkers in the s**t, with an eventual outcome being those two given their marching orders by Government..

PEC -postal executive council

There has been progress.

The TUC have received call from RM wanting to do a joint statement that would lead to action being posponed.

Officers meeting 10 am tom - thats dave ward, bob gibson, terry pullinger, ray ellis and martin collins.

full PEC at midday.

Full update will then be given. Leighton has offered to meet union on thurs - first time he's attended in person.

It looks like the action will go ahead as we stand in a bid to up pressure although if RM agree joint statement things could change

I would like to be encouraged but experience has taught me that RM will try to shaft us

In my humble opinion,the best ammo we have at the moment of keeping up the pressure on RM is to do what a few of the offices are doing doing at the moment and thats cease using cars,take m/r,wiegh pouches ect ect.Its putting real pressure on doms and their managers.The backlog at the delivery section in our mail center is embarassing,although the outward seems to be reasonabley clear,mind they have 3 coachloads of agency in per day,one load for each shift.

Members of the public have been queing out of the door at the enquirey locker demanding their letters & packages and it was even shut for a couple of hours the other day as they had no-one to run it.

Cheers for sharing the updates, we've got our meeting tomorrow about the proposed later starts on deliveries - I for one am not looking forward to any such proposal.

I work for Network and am on earlies, so my shift are out Wednesday (today). If the strikes are 'suspended' at noon, we could in theory have to go in to finish the last part of our shift ??

I totally agree Royal Mail are seeking to call the unions bluff over 'period of calm' and have put off executive action by about a month and a bit. Mean while they appear to be seeking to divide the delivery postman from processing by giving them 'grand father rights' (beware of this rights you can lose them, look at how they have been trying to take away my grandfather phg rights). Tonights network strike has worked a treat again, the pressure is on. If we let them off the hook now, they will re group, train up more casuals and be back with the same agenda. We have them on the backfoot, lets keep it that way!
