I'm not sure whether its good or bad for RM but hopefully it will highlight Downstream access and its increase. And RM twisted figures they tell us.

I doubt very much whether you will see a balanced programme from the BBC. This after all is an organisation that is more top heavy then Royal Mail yet will demand modernisation (staff cuts ) while blind to their own inefficiency. Take the Panorama programme for instance. It will feature Jeremy Vine who will say a few words at the beginning and at the end which could have been neatly provided by the reporter. Vine is not crucial. They usually don't even let him into the building. And this spreads to all their news programmes on both tv and radio. Watch the news and you will have the anchor (usually a woman) get a story from one reporter then want it repeated by another because they think their audience is too thick to understand. Radio 5 is another example. They require two presenters yet still need another to read the weather (It is raining), the sport, and the traffic report ( usually a broken down lorry on the anti-clockwise M25) within the space of five minutes. No doubt they will mention the competition to Royal Mail, more efficient, cheaper. How about a leaner and cheaper BBC so we do not have to pay an enforced tax of over £140 for a service that has gone down in quality faster than Royal Mail.

I might just catch the end of it, possibly If i run around. Panorama will only highlight part of the truth, Mandelson will not be exposed for what he is and Crozier will barely lift his small dwarf'n hands from counting his millions to switch the T.V off.

Sadly I agree. Panorama isn't the respected balanced programme it once was having probably picked up some sensationalist habits from the Daily Mail. Take for example the Panorama a few months ago about a few dozen loutish drunkards in Bolton town centre on a Saturday night, the implication being that all pubs and pubgoers are like that all the time.

There is dumbing down - there used to be a C4 sit - com series in the 90's on a fictional " Globelink News " which won awards . They interviewed one of the writers Andy Hamilton , and he said he couldn't do a series like that now as the news is dumbed down beyond satire .

The problem they have on all channels is trying spin out 10 minutes of news for an hour . I believe " Aunty " did give orders for Panorama to be shortened and dumbed down into a magazine-ish programme and do subjects they'd have never would have bothered with .

Most news is full of cut and paste from agencies and the internet full of spin , soundbites and propaganda .

Bang on, Panorama used to be brilliant. Back when it was 1hr long and was shown once in a blue moon. This 1/2 crap, and on ever week, is shite.

Panorama is biased. It sets out an agenda and come hell or high water you'll be expected to agree with them as the credits roll. They never show both sides of the story. Or if they do it'll only be a two minute sound bite.

The Tories have been / are just as bad only in different ways - Murdoch wants rid of Ofcom , the BBC trust to be replaced and BBC Worldwide reined in . So plenty of programmes like " Cat Borstal " & " Jesus Christ Superstar Soapstar Strictly on Ice "

Well, it looked fair and accurate to me. What do you think?
They showed both, a very brave Postie, who spoke out about his impossible round (there's no shortage of those walks, are there ). And another, who thought it was difficult, but still possible (filmed with Management consent). If that's not a fair, and unbiased attitude to the problem, I don't know what is.

I particularly liked the attempt by a former Marine (and current fitness trainer), to do his round in the time expected by RM. Which even HE couldn't do. And the use of the official RM document, proving that they use the 4MPH walk speed, for Georoute. Despite RM denying that they do.

Well, that's a disappointment. I thought Panorama had blown the lid on what the company is doing right now. I'd quite happily go back to 2009.

I'm sure Panorama would have a field day with Royal Mail especially regarding the de-prioritising of letters and the way the company is being managed.

Looking @ some of the 3/4 day wonders we’ve been employing, it can’t be hard to get a job @ RM

They need to do another one and find out who made the most from emptying the bank account leaving it nearly bankrupt and how the Tories and Ofcom have allowed it to happen and breaking the law every week for the last 2 years.
