Well it's not an official update, but surely it must be obvious that the PEC are not going to to sanction re-starting the strikes ? You only have to look at the wording on the 'Christmas 2009 Pay Arrangements' thread and read the bit I've highlighted ...

The Christmas bonus supplement of £100 for full time OPG and OSGs (pro-rated for part timers) will be paid on 18 December... blah blah ... In the unlikely event of any industrial action the abatement criteria will be drawn from the PBS agreement.

If RM thought there was any chance of the strikes being reinstated, would they have inserted the word 'unlikely' into their usual wording ?

:hmmmm

Then one would hope that once the update is published it offers solid evidence that the criteria for re starting strikes has not been met.

Reviews will now be weekly to make sure RM are abiding by the agreement.

Full update will follow from CWU HQ

When??

I'm getting a bit sick of all this b***sh*t now.

We've been basicaly told tough s**t by Management there's no going back, and in my office they want another 20 to 25% reduction in costs next year, thats 70-80 on top of the 60+ duties we lost this year, Area manager is threatening no more resigns, and no longer allocating leave according to seniority
No Family Friendly, those that are incapable of doing walks through ill health are going to be removed from duties they can do and put god knows where and are now fearing for they're jobs. Managers are now regularly talking up compulsory redundencies in the future to anyone who stands up to them, i.e Union Reps, and anyone who refuses to be intimidated.
But hey thanx for your concern. Image

No idea, but as its 8.41 pm I would assume Tuesday morning.

The only reason we know there is going to be a full update is because lovejoy posted that a full update from HQ is on the way.

That is in every Christmas agreement and has nothing to do with the current dispute

What have the London Branch Members of the CWU got to say about this? I thought that they were insisting on a reinstatement of the strikes, or has some deal been struck that is not being made known to the rest of the country. I know, we have to wait for the full update from cwu hq.

Nor should you, I went on the website earlier today and the latest update was CWU TV showing Brendan Barber saying we had agreed to a strike free christmas and Dave Ward saying how they understood the feeling of the membership that was Thursday the 5th of November - oh and the hard copy update - the strikes for the 6th and 9th of November have been called off.

What a load of guff!
Wasn`t very bothered when I phoned the Equality department after being told by ACAS and the Equality of Human Rights Commission about my treatment off Royal Mail and that it was one of the worst cases they had ever heard off!
They refused to deal with it and passed it back to my local useless rep who knows f all about the DDA!
Ah well more words and wind eh Billyboy, still it looks good on the front of the Voice eh!
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

You sure ? Look at the wording on abatements to the supplement in last year's agreement, kindly posted on another thread

I don't see it worded 'in the unlikely event' of official industrial action
I don't see it worded 'in the unlikely event' of unofficial industrial action

Do you ?

Should have gone to Specsavers :whistle

all bonuses are abated for IA and every agreement which include a bonus payment will have a section that deducts pay for IA..... whether local, national, unofficial or official. I know its difficult with the lack of information but you've made something of nothing on this issue
