Yes but like i said,i don't think HQ will have the bottle.baker boy wrote:I am not asking the area reps to make this decision I am saying that the National union should have one days strike then do no DSA mail until the strike ends.POSTMAN wrote:baker boy, great post and it is one idea we have talked about on here, and no doubt HQ would not have the bottle to sanction it even unofficially.
I am prepared to go back to my DO and no doubt many others on here would as well and tell our colleagues to not touch anything not RM.
But alas unless we get massive publicity through the grapevine, and at least our area reps giving us the nod,it aint gonna happen.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: What the PEC should decide on Monday
why is it always "oh your having a laugh" when the working man wants a better deal in the workplace when the management and so called captains of industry just take what they want, now the commotion of banks going bust has blown over they are taking huge bonuses and wages again, also MP`s will award themselves a nice rise and an even shorter working week, also the "oh your lucky to have a job" that gets on my tits why is that not used when the big boys want huge salaries and bonuses, about time people realised that without the ordinary decent working man the FAT CATS are nothing

Dingo states:
"Some of the issues which the union are looking to achieve in these talks are :an agreement on no complusory redundancies , an agreed model which sustains full time jobs going forward with an agreed percentage including when vacancies arises, a new process to deal with mail centre closures which offers staff realistic and sustainable other work when a mail centre closes, standardises contracts of employment no more zero hour contracts, improved benefits including improved basic pay , shorter working hours, a system which allows for less saturdays working including maybe restoring a higher rate of pay for saturdays, a payment for change in your unit , better maternity / paternity leave and family friendly polices.
In operations we want a new delivery model agreements on geo route , standards, delivery span , door to door into workload with a delivery supplement being paid , delivery methods , revison process , protection of full time jobs , automation process.
On top of this we want an agreement on MTSF and several other issue"
Have any discussions taken place since 2007, because to a layman it looks as though this is a complete rehash of the 2007 agreement. In truth, if in two years there has been no progress what on earth makes you think that in less than four weeks there is going to be any movement by Royal Mail towards such a long catalogue of demands. If I was the mediator my first reaction would be "FFS get real".
