Funny that I got an obviously 2nd hand CD from them too and haven't used them since! You'd think the morons
packing the items might notice the items are not new and sealed :hmmmm On the other hand though I hear
their pay ~& conditions are sh** so they probably don't care :crazy:

Plus, let them move away because that's what they're going to do anyway with or without the strikes.

I heard it was going to City Link which would mean we won't be delivering it.
Not necessarily as City Link are a DSA company as well http://www.psc.gov.uk/licensed-postal-o ... rcels.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They might perhaps be going to move over to City Link for Next Day Delivery. They seem to use both City Link and Royal Mail SD for guarantee next day delivery items.

TBH my son orders stuff on line that comes via City Link and they have been excellent - punctual and if you have a problem they have always been able to pinpoint the item at all times. They are the exception to the rule however.

No your right but neither does the stuff that backs the strikes. Thats the trouble in Britain everyone looks at issues in a Black and White way, they don't see the different shades of grey - and RM are past masters at this they only see, or rather are only told what they want to hear.

I honestly believe that the culture of Royal Management has to change from the sycophantic and self serving approach that seems prevalent at the moment, to one in which strong managers with people skills can deal with local issues as they see fit rather that being told what to do from above. For a Dynamic business to respond quickly to changes and problems it should not be controlled from a central location with diktats from above. What it needs is strong local management with the authority to make decisions locally at all levels and it needs a workforce that is engaged and feels part of the solution, not the problem and that has a direct benefit (not just monetary) from changes to working practices. After all you always get a better work rate and loyalty from volunteers than you do from pressed men.
Top post TBT, change has to come from above too or we will never survive. Why is it that every office is treated the same, the old 10% less traffic etc just doesn't fit with what me and my mates have to deal with. A mate at a neighbouring office also thinks likewise.

City Link are on their arse. They've lost more than 20,000 customers from 37,000 down to about 11,000. Redundancies have struck them big time.

I always get good service from CityLink but I am usually one of the first delivery points. On the negative side, if I have to collect a package it takes an hour.

dvbuk55 wrote:BT will not move from DSA, no one does it better, or cheaper in fact no one else does it and we make a loss on it so do we really need it - tracked items? - they twisted our arm to make 3 deliveries for the same item for a single price - and we now have a client who wants a signature for tracked items - which we should be saying no to and offer them the more expensive and widely acclaimed Special Delivery.
Actually we do offer tracked with a signature option, but we do charge an extra 25p an item on top for this. We got told this in our office today as one of our big customers in the town is moving a lot of stuff from SD to tracked but with the signature option.

Yes £1,25 a Month!!
Now,looking at the bank charges fiasco where you can get your charges back as the banks have to tell you actually how much the real charge is or some loop hole like that,this s**t should be investigated,where's Martin Lewis!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
