Good to see they are going to use staff that know the job

the managers at my place need a map to find Callers as they rarely visit, Callers =problems as far as they are concerned

Opt out date for xmas SA my office =17/11 : Announcement date for xmas SA hours =? 16/11 (Sunday) and stilll waiting. Oh dear ,someones trying to pull a fast one

Royal Mail's Christmas box

Royal Mail will deliver parcels on Sunday and in the evenings in the last few days before Christmas in an initiative welcomed by online retailers.

While the growth in online retail has slowed this year, Capgemini and IMRG, the industry body, predict shoppers will spend a record £13.2bn on orders for Christmas. Royal Mail said it expected to deliver 140m items from internet orders and was stepping up deliveries on December 21 to cope with the volume.

Stepping up deliveries on Dec 21st? You can't move for packets at our place now let alone Dec. I have done 3 Christmases in the past and I know what a ball ache it is - but I have never in 20 years seen it as bad as this.

Seriously, I'm actually surprised that RM have a plan for Christmas, they don't usually. Obviously it won't work, most of it depends on us lazy b******* doing overtime.
Typical RM, plan something then hope we follow like little lambs. Not me - I used to do OT without pay on busy days especially if I had made some time on quiet days. Now they are forcing us to absorb on the quiet days so as someone put it "the have flexed all the goodwill out of me", Not working 1 minute beyond my contract now even at Christmas (except for a few good customers who go that extra mile for me).

TBT would they not be threat that they will move you of your walk at christmas if you dont complete? Thats what they say to us, they say they will put someone on who will complete.

Never been said to me and TBH if they tried it would not bother me that much. I would be slower prepping and slower on the duty they gave me so in effect they would be getting less work for the same money. Not quite in the spirit of Allan Leightons recent article methinks.

They have got to give you something to do that your fully trained for, so dont worry too much. Not exactly going to leave a round uncovered are they?
