That is what I will advocate. The work to rule to begin in September and continue indefinately. The goal, our final salary scheme to remain untouched.
no working days off, doing job properly and no going over hours is going to get lots of support (members are knackered anyway from extended walks), and will cripple RM as every unit is being run on a shoestring.

Agreed but we must make sure any action is workable in all business units in the pension scheme as it won't be simply a Royal Mail ballot
Yes, I must admit I tend to forget about other functions in RM other than deliveries. Through our branches, we must stress that any action called for
during the summer months is a non starter. The autumn must be the point in which a future campaign of action begins, where Christmas is within
touching distance, and where RM will feel the impact almost immediately. There must not, I repeat, must not, be a repetition of last summer.
I agree that the ballot should be for action up to and including strike action. This would give us the right to start with work to rules and move up through the gears slowly over time.

The next few weeks should in my opinion be spent examining the best form of action for each function / unit to hit RM Group the hardest!

Just for example (off top of head so don't go mad ha)

In Deliveries WTR ........ ongoing

In Processing all staff to strike for the last half hour of their duties each day - losing just 2.5hrs per week. The reason I say this is that a WTR in processing would enable managers to work alongside us and visibly undermine our morale. The reason i say last 1/2 hr is that 99% of duties in MCs are geared towards dispatches and if every shift the whole MC walked at dispatch time there would be chaos! By not working to rule processing staff may be able to make the 2.5 up as well

Distribution/Logistics .. Staff strike for FIRST 1/2hr of duties as this is when a lot of them will be going out on runs. Will make runs late/dispatches miss etc

In Parcelforce / POL i'm sure a WTR could be managed. In sales and customer servives they could strike at peak complaint times!!

Just some thoughts

The CMA could also sell the same sort of 'light' action to their members- walking off at dispatch times, Not being there to open offices in DOs etc.

Think some real thinking needs to go into this! I'd go for decent ballot timetable, Give as much notice as poss and then name an ongoing campaign based roughly on above to start in Sept!

Won't the managers be striking with us?
Their suggestions should be considered too.
Should be interesting...

We were told that there should be 2 managers observing the picket line, managers watching the managers watching the managers etc.

Absolutely, no need whatsoever for members to lose a single penny piece of basic pay, we could bring RM to it's knees for the cost of a few bits of
overtime. Another great advantage for postal workers is, learning to live within their means, a nettle we're all gonna have to grasp sooner or later.

And if our less than glorious leaders throw the towel in early, yet again, then at least we won't have chucked away a few weeks wages down the
crapper for feck all but another bloody sell-out.

I'd go for that, lovejoy. :Applause If by some miracle, everybody's on the same wavelength, the birth of the most outstandingly successful campaign of
IA conducted by the CWU in recent years, is something we could witness. Fingers crossed. :pray

The only protest you have left in your working life is to strike.
Disagree with the pension....strike
Disagree with working till your 65.....strike
Disgree with non-contributions from new starters...strike
Disagree with the TUC leader reccomendatiions to Royal Mail and Royal Mail twisting Brendan Barber's Comments last October ..... Strike

Forget about everyone else, that's a cop out.How do you feel about the way you are treated?
Already today we have found out that firms who have a collection before 3pm will be charged double. If they want
a specific collection its £600.If not THEY will be given a time decided by Royal Mail.

Stand up and be counted.....

So your against strikes, and now your against withdrawal of good will - what do you recommend. Acceptance is not a choice as 92% of voters have rejected it.

Never been against strikes but this comes to mind

Image

Even CWU know this which is why they're going for talking as first option.

Talking to :lfo :cfo has never worked so a wtr and/or a strike seem to be our only option.
