Unity is always strength, the trouble is now is that their are too many people who have come into this industry from other industrys that have gone down the pan, and have never had to fight for anything, either because they were to few or they werent in a union that was strong enough, they seem to have this idea that if you keep your head down and dont make a fuss, that it will all pass you by, add to that the few that think well im alright jack, and it gets worse, ten years ago nobody wanted this job, they were all earning more money elsewhere, but what do i know about anything, Crozier and Leighton are to strong, lets just let them do what they want, and when theyve done it we can shout about it then...UNITY IS STRENGTH.

Some of those people from 'other industries' are ex-miners and we all know what happened to the pits. The present government bear no resemblance to traditional Labour values but thats what people voted for.
The Tories are going to win the next election and if anything they'll speed up the process of change.
Stoke is a salvage job for the union the local MP's are now involved they'll be about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Tommo mate, its good to hear from you, havnt been on as much lately because of the problems i told you about, good link by the way, i think practice and preach come to mind, and DDH, i wasnt on about the miners, weve got a few of them working with us, and you couldnt meet more decent people, who will back you up if the going gets tough, and they were absolutely right about their industry, this countrys being held to ransom by other countrys over gas and coal now, just because we should stick together doesnt mean we are militants, Labourites or socialists hell bent on bringing down the company or goverment, thats the line the bosses, goverment and the press bleat out all the time, people all over the world are trying to show unity, in Nepal, China and Zimbabwy, doesnt mean they are anarchists, it means that sticking together because they know they are stronger together, i never ever thought i would ever have to spell that out to anyone...UNITY IS STRENGTH.
