The rag probably sent a Photographer

She claims to have received the letters on Saturday. Take a close look at all the stamps. Most of my delivery on a Saturday is made up of DSA from TNT, UK mail etc. There are also no flats.
She says she phoned Royal Mail who told her to put them back in the post box. Have you ever phoned a delivery office after a delivery and got a reply?
She says she wrote to all the residents in Burnham explaining the problem. Received the letters on Saturday and wrote the same day? I assume she hand delivered the letters. Population 18,000.
Having said that hopefully it was not a regular postman that stuffed all these letters through her door because he clearly does have problems. But judging by the casuals in our office there could be the problem. And why are we still using casuals?
The Photo was probably taken by a Press Photographer. But that doesn't mean that they were all misdelivered on the Saturday.

The aleged response from the DO is disgraceful however, as she should have been assured that whoever delivered them would be asked to explain themselves.

Personally, I once came home from a weekend away (a couple of years ago), and found four letters in my garden. Judging by where they had ended up, they had probably fallen out of the Posties bag as he/she (can't have been the regular bloke, as he's been doing it too long to be that careless) came up the path. It had been raining, and they were soggy. So I put them on the radiator to dry, and took them round to the right houses, knocked on, and apologised for the delay, and the state of the Post. It didn't take very long, and was appreciated.

Obviously, I don't expect members of the Public to do what I did. But what was stopping the DO arranging for someone to collect the letters, and redelivering them?

Years ago we used to do a delivery every 5 weeks on rotation switching from rural to town and so on. Anyway the guy immediately before me used to delivery the whole of a small close, about 15 houses, to the first house in the close and expected the old bloke who lived there to deliver to the correct house!

A one-off mistake, is one thing. But to do it regularly, is atrocious. Did he get disciplined for it?

No! Things were very different then, managers more or less took a back seat, the delivery office was run by the union and the postmen - the union actually decided if you were a suitable candidate to be a postie.

I suppose by the Law of Averages, something good would have to come from all these changes. It looks like this is it.

Notice how the addresses have miraculously landed so none of them show the address when the photo was taken. What are the chances of that happening.

This fool ought to get a life.Obviously too much time on their hands.More fool to the paper who ran with the piece. We all make mistakes.I know that is alot of items but probably all for one house and misdelivered in error due to having to rush and not taking a break. :cfo

Or perhpas she has gone ga ga and didn't realise that the name and address on all 21 letters was HER OWN, and then the 'journalist' didn't let the truth spoil a good story and came up with the best scoop in Burnham for many a year.

It may also be a new postie on her round who has misidentified the address. Apparently this was delivered on Saturday but I can see at least 2 Mailsort - so perhaps they have been delivered over a few days and she saw a way to get her name in the rag.

You'll get loads of this from the local ass wipes , any little thing , the drip, drip effect for privatization .

One of the lads from my old union got nicked , silly irresponsible and dangerous boy driving home from a night club , the police would have been waiting for him , driving a old Beamer was even more conspicuous , he got a near whole page spread after being up in front of the beak , the only thing they didn't do was put his picture in .

You had the same game played with BT when the Tories privatized it . Of course, private sector employees are model citizens and wouldn't dream of breaking the law .
MURDERERS. Need to dispose of a body? Simply parcel it up and post it to yourself via DHL. You will never see it again.
