New Strike Dates

For the loss of 4 days pay you will be able to show them the job doesn't work without US.

We do it, they don't; we manage our drop points, our customers problems; our own deliveries.

They stand around with excel sheets and printed letters telling us what to do, we listen and then they change the goalposts again.

We get told we won't get more than 2.5%, or we won't be spoken to again.

Then we get more than 2.5% (albeit with the obligatory strings); and we get the chance for talks.

Now we stand up again, for 4 days and cripple the mail network; stand together and we can win this, whatever you are told, because it's usually wrong!

Yes, it's a very bold move, and it's meant to make them realise we won't become slaves. We know this job better than those who have to manage it.

Let's show them that we are the people they need. The people who have the local knowledge and the skills. We hold the reins here, not the other way round.

How many managers can you get to cover all those staff?

Yes, you can prep and sort, but can you deliver?

At our office its very very hard to gage whats happening with the impact of the strike although the rolling strike action was funny to see as, but even then we didn't have masses of work like we have at Christmas back logged and some days we were twiddling our thumbs! I personally would like to see what the Autumn brings with the latest rounds.


Question for any one.....


Is this action going to coincide with what the TUC were on about with a Autumn of discontent? I bloody hope so! prison officers council workers shop workers civil servants - even the police I hear are negotiating the right to get the non strike clause out of there terms - lets see a real country wide effort on this - we are the backbone of this country and we are being shafted by a LABOUR GOVERNMENT FFS!

Not too sure, Pochohontas...... I've heard rumours about union top knobs getting together with other union top knobs to try and arrange some sort of
co-ordinated action, but whether there's any truth in the rumours, I don't know. I guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed on this one.

I can see a few whiners who want to go into work, are these people really all there! Have they not seen the rejected agreement!
Do they really want flexible working which in reality means no o/t
Do they want to take d2d out with no payment
Do they want to be forced at short notice to stay on duty at normal rates
Do they want to stay till 65
Do they want to see the endof evr and protection of allowances under mtsf
Do they want to work harder to cover for A/L s/L
Do they want to cover walks at no cost
Do they want annualised hours and monthly pay with no recompense
Do they want to see their pension capped at 5% rpi
If you want these terms and conditions then cross the picket line, if you do you deserve to get the lot!
Good grief years ago men fought for their rights.
Most of those i know who say they are poor are driving around with brand new cars. Well when Rm reduces you wages by 25% then perhaps you will have to trade it in. Make no mistake RM intends to reduce your pay, they say you are overpaid and they mean it.
Stand fast or see the end of the cwu, this is RM first phase of a plan covering several years. There is more to come and if you don't stand up it will be coming soon!

Cant see anything about the strikes apart from a bit announcing they would be giving details soon.

I can see a bit about POL though that seems to be progressing and they haven't announced and new strikes anyway.
