It has happened on a few threads lately and again it's only my opinion but i believe it's a blatant and very childish attempt to silence the opinions of other members.
If you make controversial posts you have to expect some kind of reply in kind.
If that's not what you are looking for you are using the wrong medium...it's a blog you should be writing...and remember to disable the comments...like Moya. :whistle
untill stupid people like yourself came into royal fail

i call this bullying and utterly pathetic name calling because no doubt you would be one of the old guard and /or a blinkered union man.
if you two think this is a physically demanding job, consider yourselves very lucky not to reside in the real world ,with buliders ,rig workers labourers ,nurses ETC ETC ETC ETC.i have no doubt one side of your brains has thought it and convinced the other side that its true..but it
aint..this job is sort , then walk carring a bag or pushing a trolley ,or in my case a whole bundle at a time.

i walk to the bathroom to take a dump ,i dont think ive done anything to demanding then.Climbing everest would be physicly demanding, walking from one house to the next aint
Lol,you do make me chuckle. One minute its "try living in the real world, this isn't real work".The next thing, someone calls you stupid, amd you make out that you have had you human rights violated, and get all mardy!
Maybe you should try living in the real world?I've been called a lot worse, and im still here to tell the tale.Is it the "real world" you are living in,or just when it suits your agenda???

He was generalising....in the same way that you were when you called me one of the old guard and /or a blinkered union man.
You could call it weak debating skills, you could even call it rude but it isn't bullying.
You remind me of the kid in school with the big brother, bullying isn't your big brother so stop shouting for it to come and bail you out.

The Daily Mirror are giving away Ladybird books to teach children of 8 how to read.

Which ironically puts their reading levels above that of the average Daily Mirror reader.

Democracy: Where any two idiots outvote a genius

i am going to go out on a limb here and just suggest that the regular cliche for these forums are being daily emasculated by their mangers and this is the only forum where you can gain some semblance of power and control over themselves and others .

After viewing quite afew historic threads , i was stunned at just how any degenerated into slanging matches where one "outsider" will be set apon by several others for simply expressing a differant opinion .

but i guess that is not bullying. At least a manager will do it to your face, not anonomously over the internet , safe in the knowledge that you will never have to utter your opinions in public

THIS forum claims to have rules for all to follow .You sir, broke those rules .I sir, not being a coward have no problem in saying

enough

why would any union member think it fair to refuse to except more than one persons nomination for any postions..

Clearly jobs for the boys mentality..exactly the same for seniority.Do not want any old jolly jump up running the show.

and didnt the vastly unpopulour person get re elected unopposed.

how would i , just your average union member ,stand against him next year..cos if it was allowed i or any donkey would win..cant have that

You complained that others are breaking the rules after I addressed the matter. You are apparently trying to keep the debate going. I have no problem in that however, if you want to quote rules at people its best to follow them as well.
rules wrote:Just because someone has a different viewpoint or political position to you, it does not mean that they are a 'Manager' or a 'Union fanatic', any posts making such assumptions or generalisations will be pulled or amended and the poster warned. This also applies to posts that are not aimed at individuals but at groups.
Although we are sometimes a little "generous" with interpretation of the rules, we can if members wish start pulling people up and apply the letter of the rules. If we did enforce just that one rule above, your own posts quoted below would have fallen foul of it:

So continue with the debate, but please don't keep raising points I have dealt with and if possible don't break the same rules you complained about. If you don't like forthright debate coming at you then please don't use it against others.

I agree that things need to change at CWU HQ, but unless we can get a rule change, there's little, if anything we can do about it. It's something that I also feel strongly about. Just getting nominated for a "top job" requires you, and your achievements to be known, and appreciated in a large section of the Country. So we'll be stuck with the current incumbents, until they retire, or someone becomes popular across much of the Country stands against them. Not exactly Democratic, is it? :arrrghhh :hmmmm :arrrghhh

Ever since I found out what was required for anyone to stand against them. I've believed that it's an undemocratic system. After all: what does it matter, if someone's only known in one Branch, before the Election?
If they're any good, people will vote for them. If they aren't, they won't. Isn't that the point of voting? :hmmmm

Militantdave comes from another direction.

A militant is someone who stands and fights (for whatever side).

Why is establishment propaganda promoting the view that the only militants are Trade Unionists?

Why do I support 'job and knock'?

'Job and knock' confirms that an individual's capacity, whether inherited or learnt, belongs to that individual. It is not a "Spanish practise". Without an objective rate, individuals are slaves.

I have heard that one of mine has been sent down. I don't know if this is true but management have been spreading it. I know some of the details of the case. If what management say is true, I cannot understand how a conviction could have been obtained if there had been witness statements to show that it was standard practise not to follow procedure. I hope the union gathered these statements.

In my location, management have gone off the chart. It has been allowed to happen because of the secure nature of our work. The same authoritarian practises probably go on in our competitors' units. It's a disgrace to our society. I expect RMG to investigate the senior management at my location.

'Dave' a generalisation 'stupid etc' you obviously dont know what i was doing prior to joining royal fail do ya , my perception is one of newbies running arround not walking as they should in the quest to finnish earlier than a regular man would on a given job thus creating a false impression to the dum dim's that they need to expand the delivery ''because he does it in such & such time'' .......rome was not built in a day ........was it ?
as a previous post said militant you certainly dont seem to be maybe a play on words ? there is nowt wrong in suporting your trade union, do you ? maybe i dont like the way issues are being handled by the unions top men but it does not prevent me from giving them my full support. yes i can say things with a degree of autonamy thats why this site exists because knowledge of what is happening arround the network is of fundemental importance.... knowledge is power :wave

There should be an objective measure of how much work it is fair to do on a duty. This should be what someone at the age just before retirement can reasonably be expected to do otherwise it's age discrimination.

Militantdave's youthful advantage belongs to him. Why should he work harder so some old c***s on a better pension can benefit?
Let him finish early and go out and enjoy himself.

At the moment, the old are robbing the young. This is stupid because the young are stronger.

How long will it be until some disgruntled youngsters get pissed off with having to queue behind a dithering pensioner in their brand new car at the petrol station and stuff the Daily Mail down the pensioner's throat?

By clinging on to power, the old guard invites trouble.
