The main road between Dundee and Aberdeen could be closed completely to remove a lorry which crashed off the side of the road.
The Royal Mail vehicle remains at the scene of the crash near Happas, north of Dundee, following the crash around 8.15am.
The southbound carriageway has been reduced to one lane with the back of the lorry blocking the outside lane.
Police say the restriction will remain in place for some time.
A spokesman said the operation to remove the stricken vehicle is complex in the current weather and work is continuing to get the road fully re-open.
It’s understood part of the A90 may have to be completely closed as part of the efforts to remove the lorry, but for the time being it will have to remain in place.
No one was injured in the incident which police said was just one of many “minor road traffic collisions” in the area.
