Royal Mail has warned that some customers in part of Flintshire may face delays to their post after local issues left staff unable to complete all rounds as normal.
The Mold delivery office, which covers the CH7 area, is currently on the list of centres most affected on Friday, July 31.
This means some residents and firms in that area could see letters and parcels arriving later than expected even though deliveries are still being made on some days.
The company says it still aims to deliver to every address it has mail for six days a week, but admits that in 'a small number of local offices' this is temporarily not possible because of high levels of sick absence, resourcing problems, and other local factors.
In those areas, Royal Mail says it is rotating delivery routes in an effort to minimise delays for individual households and businesses, and has brought in what it calls targeted support to try to get services back up to their usual standard.
Royal Mail has apologised for the disruption, thanking customers for their understanding and promising to keep publishing updates for the offices most impacted while it works to restore what it describes as the high standard of service people would normally receive.
Customers who have received a 'Something for you' card are being advised to visit the services near you section of the Royal Mail website to find their nearest customer service point, check opening hours, and confirm where they can collect missed items.
People worried about missing or severely delayed post are also being advised that they may, in some circumstances, be able to claim compensation if an item sent using a Royal Mail service has been lost, damaged, or seriously delayed.
Citizens Advice says that, in most cases, either the sender or the intended recipient can make a claim, but they will need proof of posting as well as details of how and when the item was sent.
Royal Mail says its national air and road network has been running to schedule over the past 24 hours, with letters and parcels transported overnight between its distribution hubs, processing centres, and delivery offices as normal.
