FRUSTRATION is rising after Royal Mail told the city's MP there are 'no issues' with postal delays after complaints sparked an urgent meeting.

Worcester's MP Tom Collins and Cllr Sarah Murray had a meeting at the Worcester delivery office on Friday to discuss delays, including letters about hospital appointments arriving three or more weeks late.

Royal Mail has insisted there is no wider problem with deliveries despite mounting complaints about serious delays, Mr Collins and Cllr Murray said after the meeting.

The Labour MP, who branded the delays 'shocking', said after the meeting: "I want to be honest. It was a frustrating conversation. I pushed for some real process answers on what they're going to do to find the faults, to work out what is going wrong and we struggled even to get them to acknowledge the three week delays people are seeing in their mail."

Cllr Sarah Murray, a councillor for St Nicholas in Warndon Villages, Worcester, expressed disappointment after a meeting with Royal Mail over ongoing issues.

The meeting follows weeks of complaints about late deliveries, including urgent NHS letters arriving weeks late, prompting concerns from councillors and residents.

Cllr Murray said: "I’m disappointed and frustrated by the outcome of today’s meeting with Royal Mail.

"Despite the experiences shared by many residents over recent months, Royal Mail maintained that there is no wider issue with postal deliveries.

"That simply doesn’t reflect what people have been telling me."

She said residents have reported delays to hospital letters, test results, appointment notifications, and financial documents.

Worcester MP Tom Collins and Cllr Murray raised the concerns during a visit to the Royal Mail delivery office in Worcester.

A follow-up meeting has been agreed for later in August.

In the meantime, Cllr Murray is urging anyone still experiencing significant postal delays to report them to Mr Collins' office to help build a stronger case.

The delays have forced Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust to change the way it communicates with patients.

A spokesperson for the trust said: "We are aware of concerns around the reliability of the postal service, and we are expanding the range of options we have for communicating with our patients, including text messaging and digital communications."

Both Cllr Murray and Mr Collins had said they wanted the meeting on Friday to be the start of a solution to the delays,
