A Kidderminster postman and former Royal Marine is taking on a new fundraising challenge.
Shaun Marshall, who has raised thousands of pounds through gruelling endurance events, will tackle the Midnight Mountain Marathon in the Brecon Beacons to support the Royal Marines Association (RMA) Kidderminster.
His latest mission will see him cover more than 26 miles overnight with a 35lb pack, including a climb up Pen y Fan, all within an eight-hour time limit.
Shaun said: "Firstly, to have a branch back in the Wyre Forest is brilliant, and I'm looking forward to watching it flourish.
"Personally, the Corps and our training have given me high standards and discipline and a bit of wackiness, which gets me through my events; I always end up calling on the Commando ethos and cheerfulness under adversity, which sums me up."
A familiar face in Wyre Forest, Mr Marshall has previously raised more than £3,000 for KEMP Hospice by running up and down Sion Hill 147 times in 12 hours—covering 44 miles.
He has also completed a 100-mile run in 24 hours and finished the 156-mile Marathon des Sables in six days to support Wyre Forest & South Worcestershire Nightstop.
Shaun is urging members of the community to lend their support once again.
He is encouraging donations and sponsorships to help him continue making a difference through his endurance events.
The RMA offers support, advice and camaraderie to serving and former Royal Marines, their families, and those aspiring to join the Corps.
The Kidderminster branch helps keep these connections strong through events, outreach, and a supportive network.
