RMC - UNOFFICIAL BUY DOWN OF HOURS READY RECKONER

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

Anyone who wants a very rough idea of what their Buy Down hours would be if they wanted it can PM me as I have a copy of last years ready reckoner.

Before you do though remember the following points.

1. It is out of date.
2. It is based on pay rate before last years pay rise.
3. It is an unofficial copy and therefore may be wildly wrong.
4. I offer it only as a guide and its not written in stone.
5. You must approach your manager and get accurate details before you make your mind up.
6. Don't accept these details as accurate in any way

The image below is how the reckoner is set out please provide your details that I need to go into the coloured boxes (ignore the name box).

I will try to answer all within 24 hours but it not guaranteed, I have a life you know :Very Happy

I had a quote of £9600 around 3 years ago, for buying down to 20 hours and just got my figures for this time around, and been offered which worked out to around £6500 - 14 years service, and a chat to finalise. My response to the offer is :no no

One of the WAM's sons, who could not have been here longer than 3 years, got £5,000 around 3 years ago, for buy down, because he was offered it, not many others were, including me.

Who's screwing who? :d'oh!

linkinpark wrote:Aint sure but aint CWU position to protect full time jobs? RMs position was as of 2007 that they were not looking at reducing F/T to P/T? Is someone telling FIBS? What is Dave Wards position on this? I say Dave Ward cause it looks like he will take the CWU crown when it comes up! And as we know HQ have there stalkers on RMC? Maybe they can pass it on to the Big Dave as he does not come on RMC himself. LOL. I wait with baited breath to hear from the big guy though suspect silence as normal as it could get in the way of a potential election to GS!

   Must be getting good at this cause i did not add the expletives i felt i should add. LOL.
Well linkinpark i will add the expletives for you i am as f**ked of as you i am as pissed off at the lack of action at H/Q level!. I am even more pissed and f*cked off at the government of our country as it did not deliver upon the hope's and dreams of a generation and nor will it get the chance for another generation till those who fought the silent war forget or die of old age!. It with this in mind that a week is a long time in politics their will be many week's for new labour if not year's or decades out of power for it is corrupt and decadent government which as let us all down!. IT IS NOT ONE PERSON BUT A WHOLE PARTY AND THE POLITICAL SYSTEM THAT HAS LET US ALL DOWN!. I AM AS PISSED AND F*CKED OF AS YOU ALL ABOUT THIS!. IS NOW NOT THE TIME FOR CHANGE OF OUR POLICTICAL SYSTEM!.

DW has said (CWU reps meeting I was at) we we should not agree to any savings therefore we should not be agreeing to any buy down of hours and should be trying to stop mangement doing this, even if it means pissing people off who want to take buy down or VR but cant as were blocking/attempting to block any and all savings!!!!

DW explained that the purpose of buy down hours and VR's was when a genuine VR/ buy down situation occurs (that means not a mangement/artifically created savings /meet the budget situation) those that take the VR or buy down of hours get a reasonable package.

Dave has also made it clear that all FT staff should be allowed to stay FT if they so wish and the same also applies to PT staff.
