Sick pay

After your year of sick over 4 years does your pay go to nil and does your pension and Union fees get stopped plus is this counted as a break in service? Any help or advice please.

Yes. Sick pay is paid at the full rate for six months and then half rate for six months in a four year rolling period. If you have exceeded that then pay will drop to zero or statutory only and as you have no money in your pay to pay pension and CWU, then they'll probably stop also. It won't count as a break in service.

OK thanks is it possible to use your unused leave because of sick as pay while still on sick?

Afraid not. You can't be on the sick and leave at the same time as PSP won't allow it.

Actually you can, new code sick while on annual leave

which allows both absences to be linked so it stays as one big absence, it is used when the person off sick requests they take their a/l as planned

OK so does that mean you can now have your intended leave wages that you didn't use when your sick leave pay ends or is it just for as you say the leave you had intended to take? Cheers
