It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I understand what the Union is trying to accomplish
For example, Royal Mail wants to increase Automation and have one wave of mech and this understandably has a potential knock-on effect of later deliveries. So the shorter working week becomes the second pillar. Yet the final pillar actually mentions that we need a new pipeline that will enable deliveries from as early as 7am to match our main competitors.
If that is the case, I must put forward the fact that my basic working needs is urgently required to be "ring fenced" (I like that word) so that I am one of the ones that start early with an innovative duty pattern of working fewer days in the week and getting every other Saturday off perhaps?? After all we don't get what we deserve, we get what we negotiate, right? Just think of the savings that management will make on their proposed Production control in the future which will work out every single second of my working day, right down to how long it takes for me to have a pee in the toilets or eat that big mac + fries in the Royal Mail van.

One wave of mech will never happen, there wouldn't be a hope in hell getting the sequenced mail to DOs in time. The only way it would happen would be if we went back to just walk sorting the mech mail

Royal Mail never said every DO would have one wave but it's obviously possible.
