turkeys voting for Christmas!

Post by buzzer »

I thought i was going to get off this site, but oh no! Ere we are again, with our backs to the wall and our bellies to the indians. I don't know how the union worked out this deal. The sherbets must have been flying thick and fast down at the TUC last week.So much so, that they are singing from the same hymn sheet as Adam Crazyer. There are more gray areas to this deal than rippers London. The deal lacks vision and imagination. What about this flexibility. If we do have to be flexible then surely there should be parameters for this. People need to know what is expected of them and they also need to know if the manager is exceeding his authority. Especially people just starting in the job. There is nothing in the deal to address the issue of rogue executives, who come into the company, and do a terribly bad job and then leave with a million golden handshake. I would have thought the union would have lobbied parliament about this issue. Employees of Royal mail should have a say, and a vote for who is running the company. This is the only way that these people can be held accountable! Voting in favor of this deal would be like turkeys voting for Christmas. It has definitely got the thumbs down as far as i am concerned.

The deal is the deal it's the same deal only over time and area by area. Trials, local agreement, consultation , trials become practice local disagreement will be overuled or inneffective ,we all know how RM conduct consultation. Put another way "death by a thousand cuts"

The only "deal" we'll be voting on is a below inflation pay deal part funded by our own money from the ESOS scheme and a promise by the Union and Royal Mail to be nicer to each other in the future-what a load of crap! :no no

I done another thread kind of about this not you fault but it goes like this. A manager can ask that you be flexibile but who is to judge what is being flexibile "your manager" so who you fall out now with manager or the other postman/woman you work with just like job and finnish made you all rush round this will divide one and all. THIS IS THE BEGINENING OF THE END IF THIS "AGREEMENT" GET'S VOTED IN VOTE NO!.

there should be a no vote and a realisation that if the offer is rejected then we should prepare for industrial action on the run up to xmas.

What's the point? We fight a bloody cause and the bloody nec let us down by RECOMMENDING a deal that agrees to every piece thet THEY want. We lose on every single meaningful issue. My pension is now shafted, I've gotta work to 65 - well let's let the bloody nec carry the work that we have to do when they are in they're 60's.

Roll on the elections. We need to know the 9 who agreed to this (also the 5 who stuffed it).

Correct Team Working through the back door -destructive and divisive -exactly what RM want !-there'll be tit for tat reprisals by managers for "letting him down ".

Sorry but though Ward's done a good job in selling the crumbs of consolation , the deal is typically too wooly, vague & evasive . It puts a terrific pressure on reps and branches , RM know this and believe me I've seen what happens with weak reps , simplified IR frameworks in another Industry.
