In June 2008 i plan to cycle across America. Overall i will need 9 weeks of. Has anyone else taken alot of time of? I've just started so don't really know about holiday situations. Can't really rely on my managers word. Still havn't been paid for 5 weeks, every week he tells me i'll get it next week. But thats another story.

Are you doing it for a charity event,if so ask RM if they would give you the time of as their donation, also ask for some t shirts,we got t shirts from RM when we did the London-Brighton cycle ride.........mind you that was a few years ago with a different leadership.

If you're not already doing it for charity,Has your office adopted a local hospice/handicap school or anything like that, perhaps you could get yourself sponsored.I guess you plan to go from East-To-West......would that be on Route 66 that'll be spectacular.

Best of luck

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
