Been using the forecast IWT with the DOM for two weeks now and after explaining to him that the system is telling us to put hours in due to the mismatch of part time to full time staff and the traffic is above model week. It was a struggle for him to understand the outputs from the tool and on seeking guidance from the DSM he was trying to get me to forget the tool because the WIPH measure was poor for the unit. Although after telling him that WIPH isn't in the process and planning to an agreed BSI was the only agreement with the CWU, he could always use the I/R framework if he disagreed.
The 200hrs have been put in to reflect the hours we need to maintain the agreed BSI and from my own experience I have found that the DOM was reluctant to down dial the BSI or adjust the Traffic or plan for sickness, work place coach release,etc within the resource to workload tab.
