How long to line managers have to issue a stage warning?

It used to just say thy had to issue it within a reasonable period of time which leaves it open to abuse on their part

If you mean when your absence has triggered a stage warning under RM standards you should receive a letter within 5 days from your return to work interview requesting you to attend for a formal absence interview.
