STOP FUNDING THE LABOUR PARTY

We should from as of now and until the Labour Party give a commitment to re-nationalise the Royal Mail stop all funding to the Labour Party.

What do people on the forum think about such a proposition. I can not see what benefit we can possibly derive by continuing our support for them. We should have a ballot on that.

the trouble is as far as i can c is this union is too full of labour appologists who still believe labour is a party for the working class. every conference a motion is put up for disfilliation from the labour party (be it by the back door lol) and year after year labour supporter after labour supporter gets up to bleat on about past glories and u have to be in it to change it from within etc etc. labour is broken the system is broken. time our union put our political fund to better use and support those whose ideals and goals are the same as ours, be that snp, swp,greens,countryside alliance et al.

I opted out last week. But then again have never voted Labour. Now what do I spend all that extra money on.

Fair comment. Personally though,i wouldn't give two bob to any of the three main political parties. I will be voting for one of the smaller parties next time,like the Greens.

I believe in a referendum of the members of weather the CWU should continue to use some of the politcal levy to fund the Labour Party. That is the motion London will be putting to conference. It is time the members had their say in a democratic vote.
