First aider's

Hi ,

Does anybody know what the ratio of staff per first aider should be in a unit ?

There is no set amount it's all to do with assessment basically 1 member of staff qualified working during every shift and if he is out of then should be someone to cover him, also someone to cover him for annual leave and another to cover the cover on his day off when the first is in annual leave, also an extra bod for every 50 members of staff

Or an appointed person if under 25
Where it gets hazy is annual leave/shifts etc

heres one for you, in the event of a serious incident ie a fire DOM has other tasks to deal with, so anyone injured would have no first aider to look after them, so on paper DOM being first aider looks ok but in reality in the event of an actual incident HSE are going to have some serious questions.
